Discriminated Because I am A Mom!!!

I used to be very happy working here though work may not be the best, working envirnment not conducive enough and lotsa nonsense, the marketing team and the boss really works together as a whole and we were really happy to help one another through all the nonsense out of our department.

Ever since the management changed, my boss is faced with lotsa problems. He shared some, but most of it, he kept to himself. We can feel the tension, and he tried his very best to protect our welfare and tried to help us grow our portfolio. He is good. No doubts.

One fine day, he announced he is resigning which was near christmas but the person taking our him is his right-hand-man. She knows how we work, what we are good at too.

The team consists of myself and a mom to be plus 3 others who have yet become a mom.

The 2nd boss also cannot take the nonsense, she resigned in April. The new guy came...and our nightmare begins.

To cut the story short, we still do our work, though we are unable to get a long very well with him, we still meet datelines.

One fine day...he went to someone and pour his "woes" to her saying it is very hard for him to work when the team consist of a Mommy aka me and a mom to be.

I am already having plans when he joined, but this kind of discrimination makes me want to get out faster!

I was so upset and angry that I told my ex-boss. He said he didn't have any problems before, why is he having a problem now??!!!

Probably he can get rid of all of us and recruit new people so that he can fashion them to suit his style. Just wish myself good luck!

Gotten them a little pool for some water splashing fun in our balcony!

Well, I am sure they love this new toy of theirs! However, our side is windy on most days, hence we just got to roll down the shutter when they play.

How I wish we have a real swimming pool to dip in...

Her Achievement!

We sat on the bed 2 nights ago. Ethyl dished out those graded readers of hers, requested me to read to her and I sat the little boy down, with Ethyl next to me, I started to flip through the books and read page by page coupled with some actions.

Ethyl took the initiative t read another book after I had finished. I was pretty surprised that a book that we seldom read, or probably I have never read that book to her before, she can finish reading the book with a little aid from me and with her knowledge on phonics, and she completed the book!!! She read 90% by herself.

I applauded her for this achievement. At the same time, I can’t help but to feel that my Ethyl is really thriving and growing way too fast for me to catch up!

Occupying Ourselves :)

I know you are tired of reading about us loving the new estate. No matter what, I still have to repeat...we are really loving here!

Our weekends are always at either Tampines or walk/take a bus to ehub! or downtown east. Probably we are still very new to the estate hence the novelty and the busy weekends.

We kept ourselves really busy trying to familiarise with the area. Yesterday, on our trip to ehub, we signed the kids up for the membership of explorer kids. At the same time, we went in for some fun.

Before going to explorer kids, we went for dinner at New York New York (again!). Think we will soon become their regular patrons for one of the weekend.

She is like me, afraid of heights. Eventhough she is afraid, she still made it and climbed up by herself several times. She gets better as she did. Brave girl!

Little boy enjoyed himself at the toddler play area.

Lastly...I loved this shot!

Both of them were exhausted and we took a bus back home. Since we were not too far, letting the kids take public transport once in a while is good too! To them, it seems like an excursion for them. I am planning for a time where we can go kids'kampong, pony riding, catch fish, cycling, play sand at the beach etc. The only grouse is...weekend is really too short!

Simple Talk

I seemed to be in love…

The kids are really our best gift on earth. Now I can fully understand why Mommy says she still feels that we are little girls in her eyes. Yes, despite the fact that 2 of her girls are already married and are “promoted” to Mommy status, and the other one will soon be ringing her wedding bells!

It seems like having children may be a dream to many but also a nightmare to others too. As a Mommy, all I can share is the joy and frustrations, the real happiness and bliss is really way beyond description.

I never felt as touched when Hubby first held my hand, but I was touched and almost tear when Ethyl and Brayden wrapped their tiny hand around my finger.

I never once kissed Hubby continuously for many minutes, but I did so on that baby soft cheeks of both and never get tired of it! I love looking at them sleeping…how angelic and peaceful such moments are.

Do you feel the same like me? I learnt to be as good a Mommy as I can, and sad to say, I seemed to have neglected the man in our lives. One thing we shared in common is…we have endless love for our kids. We can lie down on our bed, with them between us, looking at them sleeping so peacefully and just chat about how they have made our lives so different!

No matter how busy we may be, be it at work, during renovation or whatever, we still try and make time for them both and our greatest consolation is to see them smiling at us.

I love my Mommy role. In fact, if given a chance, I would want to do it better!

Ethyl in Her New School

She took a break for a month and has no classes due to the shift. She has been waiting patiently for her new school term to start today.

We went shopping for a new school bag, new face towels, mug, toothbrush and water bottle at different shopping trips. Got her new pair of schools and prepare her for the new challenge ahead.

I probably underestimated her ability to adapt in the new environment. I was worried, edgy and emotional especially so yesterday and this morning.

Ok, I shall not continue my grandmother story. Let's get some doses of the cutie ones.

I prepared her breakfast. I was cornflakes today as this is week 1 of the month and her wednesday for W1 is cereals.

She took a school bus to school. The journey was not as long as we thought. We were following behind her bus and they reached in less than 20 mins.

Photobucket

My gal is all grown up! She made friends within seconds and they all were gathering around her chatting, and having breakfast together.

I am really glad to see her adapting so well. My worries were unfounded.

Well done baby! You made Mommy so proud of you!!
