Why That Frown?

Hubby was really on sunrise shift on Monday, came back home only yesterday morning (9-ish). He was supposed to be off today, but was hauled back and the usual is...he won't be back again today.

Anyways, there's little I can do except to tell him, we all missed him when he was away.

Last night, Ethyl was so happily playing with Hubby. She climbed onto him and played with him while he was watching his google box. Hubby was a little irritated and was frowning and told Ethyl in quite a hostile tone, "Stop playing, I want to watch TV".

I was not surprised, even when I talked to him, he will filter away my words. So, I raised my voice a little and said, "You are working most of your time, our daughter simply wants to play with you, can't you treat this as part of the bonding effort a Daddy should put in? Is this so difficult to play with her?".

Immediately, his frowns were switched to smiles and he played with Ethyl. Ethyl's face brightens up when Hubby smiled and played with her. This may seem simple, but I believe it meant alot to our little girl. Simple things in life should never be overlooked.

Oh Fannie, our girls are so alike. They stick to their daddies like honey. But I do understand where the daddy is coming from.

It's normal. I also usually will tell hubby to spend 5-10mins with Grace even when he is too tired or need to work at home. :)

I can imagine Ethyl's facial expression .. take care.. must be tough for you.

Sometimes the man just need a little reminder that they need to spend time with their loved ones :)

seems like most dads can be alittle insensitive when it comes to such things... they always need the mum to remind them to shower attention on the kids....

sigh, when the men are free, they always think of their tv first..

Next time teach Ethyl to play massage with daddy. Mummy can teach her how to massge daddy's back while daddy watch 10 mins of TV to unwind.

Daddy will feel so loved, he will switch off the TV and massage the family.
